• Amazon Pokes Fun at Apple While Offering U2 Album to Prime Users

For those of you that don’t remember, Apple started offering U2’s album “Songs of Innocence” right after their September 9th announcement, and gave it away for more than a month. As the company has wrapped up their giveaway, Amazon is also picking it up and offering the rock band’s album to its Prime users and subscribers for free. Apple received much criticism when the offer ran its course, as users who did not want the album had it downloaded automatically to their account.

Amazon announced this giveaway on their Twitter account, but they didn’t do it without making fun of Apple first. The company is offering this deal through Prime Music for those subscribed to Amazon Prime.

Stream deluxe version of @U2’s Songs of Innocence Free in Prime Music. Add it to your library- we won’t do it for you.
The stab was finished off with a winking emoji. Approximately 81 million people ‘experienced’ U2’s album according to Apple, and is now being offered for $9.99 in iTunes, Beats Music, and iTunes Radio.
