United Airlines has recently announced that they will be having an iPad makeover at its main terminal in Newark International Airport located in New Jersey. It has been reported that the airline plans on putting down $120 million to upgrade its main terminal at Newark Airport. Although Newark has been noted to be the 14th busiest airport in the country, it is also currently ranked one of the worst. We suppose this is their way to distract incoming flyers.

The airline had a recent interview with Bloomberg in which Mary Clark, United’s spokesperson, said the makeover is supposed to be a way for customers to enjoy their extended waits. According to Bloomberg:

The goal is for the company to have everything ready by 2015, where customers can go to an iPad at a gate, or restaurant and browse the Internet while waiting for their flights. Flyers will also be able to purchase food or other items at the terminal and check flight statuses. United also plans on adding 10,000 power outlets for iPhone users along with the 55 dining spots and 6,000 iPads.
