• Apple CEO Connects with Prominent U.S. Senator in Nation's Capitol

Apple CEO Tim Cook is no stranger to Washington, D.C. In fact, just this week, Apple's chief executive was in the District to meet with one of the longest serving and most respected lawmakers in the U.S. Senate.

Utah Republican Senator Orrin Hatch wanted to speak with Cook to chat about Apple's technology agenda, reports The Hill. Proving wrong the assumption that all aging lawmakers are out of touch with tech, Hatch is actively involved with modern tech within a political context.

Hatch has been a supporter of tech-focused policy issues in Congress and has tried to prioritize a number of items ahead of next year’s GOP takeover of the Senate.
“As chairman of the Republican High-Tech Task Force, Sen. Hatch plans to focus on fostering an environment that encourages research and innovation,” a representative for Hatch's office was quoted by The Hill.

Cook is yet to speak publicly about the details and discussion points of his meeting with the well-liked lawmaker, but the conference only serves to deepen the ties Apple has with incredibly powerful decision-makers in D.C.
