• Shazam for iOS Updated With Integrated Music Player and More Spotify Integration

    On Wednesday, the highly popular Shazam music-tagging application for the iOS platform received a bump up to version 8.2.0 in its latest update. Shazam notes that this is a feature-heavy update with improvements that users are sure to love.

    Among the new features, Shazam is introducing a built-in music player that lets you preview music that you have tagged recently. You can now go over to any of the songs you recently tagged, and there will be a Play button to the right of the song name that, when tapped, will begin playing a part of the song for you to get an idea of what it was that you tagged:

    The application is also integrating deeper with the popular Spotify music-streaming service to make it so that Shazam users can now stream tagged Spotify music directly from the Shazam application. Users can also add all of their Shazamed music right to their Spotify playlist if they want to.

    We’ve reworked your homescreen so the second you open the app, you can -
    • Keep up to date with the latest from all the artists you’ve Shazamed.
    • Get instant access to the freshest Shazam charts.
    • Find out what your friends have Shazamed - just login to Facebook.

    A new way to play. The ‘Play All’ button lets you -
    • Listen to full playlists across Shazam - Charts, your Shazams, and Recommended songs (now with better song recommendations customized for you!)
    • Quickly rate any track with the new player: Like it? Swipe right to save it to My Shazam. Not for you? Swipe left to skip it.
    • Hit play, and off you go with the music you want to hear, all in Shazam.
