• Apple Pay to Work its Magic in Orlando Beginning This Week

Despite launching late in the year, Apple's mobile payments platform has grown at an immense pace into the remaining days of 2014.

According to the latest reports spanning the WSJ to the most obscure of rural publications, Apple Pay's adoption is being noted everywhere. And beginning this week, the Orlando Magic will become the first NBA team to support Apple Pay at their home arena.

Apple's payment platform officially goes live Friday at Orlando, Florida's Amway Center when the Magic host the Utah Jazz. Specifically, the Apple Pay option will be available at several concession and Magic retail locations throughout arena.

“The Magic are committed to our fans and their experience and are continually looking for ways to innovate in order to make that experience legendary,” says Magic CEO Alex Martins. “We are thrilled to join our partners Chase and Levy Restaurants to be the first NBA team to integrate Apple Pay into its home venue and specifically the Amway Center, the most technologically advanced arena in North America.”

A number of other NBA teams are said to be exploring support for Apple Pay in 2015.
