• Apple Ready to Expand Apple Pay to Various Other Countries

It has been reported that Apple is looking to expand its mobile payment system outside of the U.S., as it is currently only available within the U.S. This comes as the Cupertino-based company is looking for an Apple Pay intern in a new job listing. iClarified noted that Apple Pay is ready to “expand across Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa.”

Apple Pay is a new and exciting area in Apple that is set to expand across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. Apple Pay will change the way consumers pay with breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features built right into their iPhone 6 or Apple Watch to pay in an easy, secure, and private way. The new London-based Apple Pay team will work to drive the roll-out of this technology across EMEIA by working with a variety of internal and external partners, including teams in the US where the product will first launch and the EMEIA organisation, as well as Issuers, payment networks and merchants across Europe.
The new job listing stated that the person taking on the position will join the Apple Pay team in London and assist in launching the mobile payment system in multiple countries. The Apple Pay intern will be working with "Issuers, payment networks and merchants across Europe."

Apple Pay has been successful in the U.S. with more companies wanting to hop on board and banks offering promotions when using the system. It is definitely clever for Apple to make the next move and expand the mobile payment system to various countries. It has not yet been reported when this rollout in other countries will take place, but major credit card company Visa has stated before that they are working with Apple to have Apple Pay in Europe by next year.

Reports previously also noted that Alibaba’s Jack Ma is looking to have a partnership with Apple in introducing a payment solution for consumers in China. Do you think Apple Pay will be as successful in other countries as it has been so far in the U.S.? Let us know in the comments below.

If the Pay team is based in London then its obvious that where they should start, London Transport would be an ideal partner to start with, the readers are already in place on all the the buses and tube stations
