• 67 Million iPhones to be Sold in December Quarter According to New Survey

We’re now les than a week away from Christmas and reports are saying that Apple could potentially sell as many as 67 million iPhones in just the December quarter. This report comes from a recent Morgan Stanley survey using an AlphaWise Smartphone Tracker that gets sell-through data. When last checked, it predicted that 67 million iPhone units would be sold, meanwhile analyst Katy Huberty’s prediction was 62 million and Wall Street’s sell-side consensus was 63 million.

For the December quarter, Jasmine Liu of Morgan Stanley Asia predicted that 65 million to 70 million iPhone devices would be built. This means that the tracker was pretty on point with the number reported. For the 2013 holiday season, the Cupertino-based company had shipped 51 million iPhones and gained a $13.1 billion profit. With the most recent report, it sounds like Apple will be breaking last year’s record (which was already an all time high for Apple at the time).

It was also reported that the demand for iPhones in the U.S. are basically tracking in-line with overall global trends. However, it was noted that the demand for iPhone devices in China are tracking almost three times more than the global year over year growth. Brazil is also apparently tracking a significant amount above global trends. Apple definitely hit it big worldwide with their latest iPhone 6 and 6 Plus launch.
