• Apple Expands its "Start Something New" Campaign to the US and Other Countries

    Apple recently started its “Start Something New” ad campaign where it highlights digital art work created through a combination of both iOS and Mac hardware and third-party software. The art gallery showcases the potential of Apple products – a project which launched on its Japan website last week. Featured artists whose work has been showcases include Austin Mann, who illustrated the photographic potential of Apple’s current-generation iPhones using stock hardware and the third-party photography app, VSCO Cam. Other photographers include Marcelo Gomes, Jingyao Guo, Christian Weber, Jared Chambers, Alistair Taylor-Young, Chad Riley and Jimmy Chin.

    Another big focus of the campaign was illustration where several featured iPad artists create images using a variety of apps such as Brushes 3. Here Nomoco’s ethereal portraits and artistic duo Craig & Karl’s pieces came to life through various iOS apps. The work of filmmakers was also highlighted with Universal Everything’s Matt Pyke using his iPhone 6 to capture high contrast moving images, then tweaked speed, color and other settings to end up with a film bearing almost painterly qualities. Last but not least, several Mac creative also showed off paintings and movies produced on iMac using iDraw and Final Cut Pro.
