• Traffic Tied to iOS 9 Continues to Grow

Although most iOS users and developers are primarily thinking about the looming release of iOS 8.2, Apple has no choice but to think more long-term. As a result, work is continuing at a brisk pace on the development of iOS 9.

According to published reports Tuesday, traffic from the unannounced and unreleased iOS 9 has been growing of late, thanks to the detective work provided by the Google Analytics of prominent Czech tech site letemsvetemapplem.

If all goes according to plan, we can expect the grand unveiling of iOS 9 this summer (and release in fall 2015).

"As for the analytics themselves, they show three separate visits to the site on 5th, 10th and 12th January. So speculation will no doubt begin on what the next version of iOS 9 will contain," says Gordon Kelly of Forbes, who acknowledges that while these iOS 9 devices "could be fakes designed to fool Google," that's highly unlikely.

Even though the release of iOS 9 is still more than half a year away, iOS upgrades are so elaborate and detailed that Apple surely has functional betas in place even at this early point in the new year.
