• The Final Page Turning for MacUser

After close to three decades of publishing, it's the end of an era for one of the longest-running Apple-focused publications in the world. Dennis Publishing heralded the end of MacUser magazine today, following what would have been close to a 30 year run.

First published in 1985, U.K.-based MacUser has concentrated on buying advice, reviews, and, of course, relevant Apple news and other tech features.

Ian Westwood, Group MD of Dennis Publishing, which produced the magazine, expressed words of appreciation today in looking back on the publication's memorable run.

"MacUser has helped make Dennis Publishing the business it is today and has contributed to establishing us as the largest technology publisher in the UK," Westwood writes. "The decision to cease publication of MacUser was very tough and one that was not taken lightly. Unfortunately, due to challenging market conditions, the closure was unavoidable.

"I would like to thank the greatly talented editorial team, past and present, who have worked tirelessly on the magazine for over 30 years as well as the MacUser subscribers for their loyalty to the magazine," he concluded. "We will be contacting readers directly over the coming days regarding their subscriptions."
