• Amazon in Talks of Purchasing Some RadioShack Stores

It has been reported that popular chain store RadioShack has filed for bankruptcy recently but Amazon is apparently in talks of purchasing some of their brick-and-mortar stores. According to Bloomberg, Amazon wants to turn some of the RadioShack locations into drop-off and pick-up centers, since currently their whole business is being done online. RadioShack is being asked to sell some of their stores and close the others as they have 4,000 plus retail stores in the U.S. U.S. wireless carrier Sprint as also expressed interest in purchasing the companyís retail spaces.

This is not the first time there have been talks of Amazon wanting to set up storefronts for its customers. But it has already been a few years and nothing has yet to be set up. However, having actual stores would be great for Amazon as they can then push their own products like the Kindle and Kindle Fires. This would give Apple an even bigger competition when they have their own stores. It is still unknown exactly how many stores Amazon is looking to purchase but we would imagine they would be buying a good amount to set up.

What are your thoughts on this matter? Would you appreciate being able to go to Amazon brick-and-mortar stores if this were to happen? Let us know in the comments below.

Amazon can purchase every brick and mortar store of walmart if they want too, I'm still not going to buy their kindle or fire anything. I would welcome local pickup of amazon items and easy drop off access for returns.
