• Apple's HealthKit Finds a Home in Majority of Top U.S. Hospitals

According to the latest healthcare industry insight, Apple's HealthKit is quickly finding a home in the majority of top U.S. hospitals.

The company's nascent healthcare technology immediately caught the attention of some of the world's most prestigious healthcare organizations last year when Apple first unveiled the platform. Now the majority of preeminent hospitals in the nation are said to be actively testing the platform for potential widespread integration.

"Fourteen of 23 top hospitals contacted by Reuters said they have rolled out a pilot program of Apple's HealthKit service - which acts as a repository for patient-generated health information like blood pressure, weight or heart rate - or are in talks to do so," Thursday's report reads.

HealthKit is believed by many to represent the future of modern mobile health tech which could potentially save hospitals millions of dollars and save doctors hundreds of hours by enabling reliable remote patient monitoring in ways never before imaginable.

"Those trying out Apple's service included at least eight of the 17 hospitals on one list ranking the best hospitals, the U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll," Reuters confirms.
