• Apple's TestFlight Service Adds New Group Options for Developers

Apple recently announced the new TestFlight service, which supposedly allows beta testers to be split into groups. This will make everything easier for Apple developers when trying to assess more than one app simultaneously or when doing split tests. Another thing iOS developers will be able to do with the new feature is the ability to make changes to multiple testers at once.

The TestFlight Groups feature lets developers group test participants in an organized manner when trying to test different builds of a new application. Or when dealing with different focus areas, it will divide the testers into different categories. With TestFlight (which was rolled into iTunes last September), up to 1,000 external testers will be able to try beta versions of new apps released by developers.

Developers were told they had until February 26th to move their testing configurations to iTunes Connect. Unfortunately it was noted that direct transfer options are unavailable. This means that the process will entail the following: the app needs to first be configured from iTunes Connect, TestFlightApp.com will export the testers’ contact information and then the info will be re-imported into iTunes Connect.
