• Microsoft Updates Office Apps for iOS With iCloud and Other Cloud Sync Support



    Microsoft has updated its iOS applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, on Tuesday to version 1.6.

    The update adds support for many cloud sync services that users may use to store their files so that users aren't locked down to using Microsoft's OneDrive cloud storage service anymore. Newly supported services include Box and even Apple's iCloud.

    Users will be able to view their iCloud files, open them, and even edit them, although Microsoft only supports certain file types through this feature, such as those created directly in the Office applications for iOS or Mac OS X.

    The change log also indicates that Microsoft has included some bug fixes to improve the stability and performance of the applications throughout regular use.

    Existing users of the Office applications will find these updates under the Updates tab in the App Store application, while those on iOS 8 with automatic updates enabled will have these updates installed for them automatically.
