• Skype 7.5 Released for Mac OS X Users

An update for the popular Skype messaging and VoIP calling service for Mac OS X has been released by Microsoft on Wednesday, bringing the application's latest version number up to 7.5.

Skype notes on their blog that the update adds support for 14 languages including the following:

    • Hindi
    • Turkish
    • Czech
    • Ukrainian
    • Greek
    • Hungarian
    • Romanian
    • Indonesian
    • Catalan
    • Croatian
    • Slovak
    • Vietnamese
    • Thai
    • Malay

Moreover, the update improves CPU consumption so that the application will feel zippier overall without as much of a footprint in the system's resources. With that being said, stability has also been improved in addition to the enhancements in performance; Skype details a list of bugs that have been fixed in the blog post having to do with random application crashes, screen flickering, user interface glitches, and more.

Updating is rather easy. You can just go to "Skype" from the Menu Bar when the Skype application is open on your Mac, and you can click on the "Check for Updates" option to find and download this update. It can then be installed upon quitting and re-opening the Skype application on your machine:
