• Pegatron's Quarterly Results Reveal A 53.4% Boost in Net Profits Due to the iPhone 6

According to a quarterly results announcement, Pegatron recently saw annual net profits rise a whopping 53.4% to $466.8 million US in 2014. Reuters claims the rise in profits was attributed to the production of the iPhon e6 which was said to have greatly benefitted Pegatronís bottom line in 2014. Notably, fourth-quarter profits surged 68% to T$5.68 billion, which was a new record. Furthermore, one thing to keep in mind is that the iPhone 6 was released only partway through Pegatronís fiscal year in September.

Pegatron CEO Jason Cheng had the following to say about his merits when asked about the companyís reliance on smartphones during the announcement:

It's definitely not a good thing to be too concentrated on just a few clients. But you can't avoid the fact that mobile phones have been fast sellers. When good business comes your way, how can you not take it?
Analyst Arthur Liao of Fubon Securities recently told Reuters that Apple products may consist of as much as 59% of Pegatronís 2014 revenues. In the past, Apple was primarily dependent on Hon Hai (better known as Foxconn) but as the companyís product line continues to grow, the Cupertino California company appears to be delegating more and more orders to secondary firms. Furthermore, a labor rights group previously mentioned that Apple has shifted orders to Pegatron because of wage hikes at Foxconn.

Regardless, of the reason, itís likely that both Apple and definitely Pegatron are both content with the recent changes.
