• Vine Brings 720p HD Video Quality to its Mobile Apps and Web

Vine is rolling out higher-quality 720p HD video quality to its mobile applications and Web interface, as announced on the service's official blog Friday afternoon.

Above, you can see the difference in quality between the previous 480p standard quality video and the new 720p HD quality. The HD quality gives sharper detail in both the in-focus and out-of-focus areas of the shot. 720p HD might not the the world's best quality of HD, but it is still a decent step up from the standard quality that Vine users have been putting up with since the service's launch in January of 2013.

The changes are still rolling out to users of the mobile applications and the Web interfaces, but everyone will soon be able to enjoy 720p HD video streaming. As for sharing videos, iPhone users can start sharing videos in 720p right now; Android users have to wait a little longer, but it's coming to Android's mobile application too.

You can head over to the official Vine Blog to see some examples of the new 720p HD video quality in action. Vine is a free download from the iOS App Store at this link.
