• Piper Jaffray Analyst Believes 1M Apple Watch Units Will Be Sold Launch Weekend

As we are getting closer to the launch of the Apple Watch, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster believes that one million Apple Watch units would be sold during opening weekend of April 24th. It was noted that the one million number will include launch sales as well as preorders. Apparently Munsterís number is purely based off of believing the amount of customers who canít wait to preorder the device on April 10th. The analyst also said that within the first 24 hours alone, Apple would be selling 300,000 units.

As for the future, Munster believes that 8 million Apple Watches will be sold throughout the year. If the Cupertino-based company really sold that number, it would mean that Apple would hit $4.4 billion in revenue. It was also noted that by 2017, approximately 40-50 million wearable devices would be sold. If that ends up being true, it would account for 10% of the companyís revenue for 2017.

It is definitely too early to assume the total number of units Apple will sell in regards to the Apple Watch. We are not even sure how many units Apple will sell this year, let alone 2 years from now. Letís see how many wearable devices will be preordered first when April 10th rolls around. How do you feel about these outrageous numbers? Share with us in the section below.
