Dish Network has recently announced that their web television service, Sling TV, would be adding HBO as an add-on for customers for $15 a month. This will go into effect sometime in the next two weeks. Those who are interested will have to subscribe monthly to Sling’s base plan for $20 and then add HBO for an additional $15 a month as an add-on. The total monthly price for the two combined will be $35 per month. This is different from HBO Now, which is exclusive only to Apple at launch.
According to HBO distribution executive Tom Woodbury,
It is has always been our desire to make the HBO subscription widely accessible. Sling TV is a part of that ongoing evolution and we believe HBO is a great addition to the platform.
