• Results from a Recent Reuters Poll Finds 15M Americans Ready to Buy an Apple Watch

Reuters/Ipsos did a new survey regarding the Apple Watch and found that as many as 15 million smartwatches could be sold this year. According to the survey, approximately 6% of U.S. adults will be purchasing the wearable device, however, the percentage of men almost doubles that of women. 1,829 adults were surveyed online by Ipsos from April 8th to April 14th. The survey noted that the highest interest were those in their 30s, and about 13% of the group plan on purchasing the device. Consumers ranging from 18-29 years of age only had about 10% of the group wanting to buy the Apple Watch.

Reuters also found that iPhone owners were more likely to spend money on the Apple Watch, with around 15% saying they would like to purchase it. Then for those without Apple’s iPhone, 8% stated that they may switch over to the device just to get the Apple Watch. Ming Chi Kuo from KGI Securities recently said that it is still unclear as to whether or not the smartwatch will be successful and that it is still too early to tell. We guess we will just have to wait and see how the actual and real numbers turn out to be when the smartwatch debuts to the general public.

Do you fall under the same category as the majority of those from the poll? Are you planning on getting an Apple Watch this year? Share your thoughts and comments below!
