• Public Transit Information to Possibly Come to Apple Maps

New reports are claiming that Apple has plans of bringing public transit directions back to their Maps app for iOS and OS X. Apparently the company put up a listing for a software engineer to join their Maps divisionís routing team. It has been almost three years since Apple decided to abandon data from Google Maps. According to the listing,

As a member of the Routing team, you will work on one of the most anticipated features of Apple Maps.
The listing also wanted someone specifically with

in-depth knowledge about public transit, both as a rider and on a technical level.
When Apple decided to release their own ĎMapsí they pretty much got rid of many popular features that the general public loved. Transit options is one of the main functions that was dropped, along with street view. It was noted previously that the public transit feature would be in iOS 8, however, that did not actually happen due to a slew of reasons.

Apple has plans of announcing many different things at this years Worldwide Developers Conference, which begins on June 8th. Maps could possibly be one of the announcements, but any changes would have to be in iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 presumably.
