• The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Resort to Start Accepting Apple Pay in June

As Apple Pay continues to roll out across the US, it appears to be making its mark in the city of Las Vegas as well. The Cosmopolitan resort has recently announced that Apple Pay will be accepted at the hotelís front desk, restaurants and bars by early June. Room service can also be streamlined using Apple Pay as the concierge service will reportedly be accepting Apple Pay as a method of payment as well. This will allow iDevice users to utilize their iPhone or Apple Watch to make their payments.

As of right now, it hasnít been made clear whether Apple Pay will be usable for gambling. Most casinos tend to limit purchasing chips with cash only transactions. In the case that credit cards are accepted, the payments are marked as cash advances so thereís no ways to turn quick money. That being said, it remains unknown if the casinos will support this type of transaction with Apple Pay. A marketing officer from The Cosmopolitan, said the following in a statement:

As always, we are thrilled to lead the market with a new component to a Las Vegas experience that makes everything a bit faster and a great deal easier.
For those of you who didnít already know, Appleís large market presence has helped push Apple Pay across America quickly with thousands of merchants accepting the form of payment. As of right now, over 200 banks and credit unions already support Apple Pay nationally. Unfortunately no news of an international rollout has surfaced but Cook did mention he wanted to have the mobile payment method go international by the end of the year, so weíll just have to wait and see what moves Apple makes to turn that goal into a reality. In the meantime, iPhone and Apple Watch owners in the US can start to take advantage of the functionality at more places.
