• Refreshed 27-inch iMac and 15-inch MacBook Pro Expected As Soon As This Wednesday

Earlier this year, Apple launched a new MacBook with a Force Touch-enabled track pad and brought the feature to the 13-inch MacBook Pro as well. Soon, 15-inch MacBook Pro users won't have to wait for Force Touch to come with the notebook, as French site MacG.co reports Monday morning.

The site, which reportedly has an accurate track record, cites unknown sources familiar with the upcoming refreshes for two of Apple's popular machines - the 15-inch MacBook Pro and the 27-inch iMac. Whether the 27-inch iMac bump will be for the retina 5k display iMac or for the the basic 27-inch iMac has yet to be revealed. Both machines are expected to get some hardware spec jumps in addition to the inclusion of Force Touch for the 15-inch MacBook Pro.

The hardware specs should include the new Broadwell Intel processors that were included in the new Macbook and 13-inch MacBook Pro earlier this year, but will have much higher clock speeds than the entry-level MacBook Pro. The upgrade will offer users enhancements in processing power, efficiency, and battery life.

The refresh of the machines is further supported by the lengthened shipping estimates of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which depending on the model you select, ranges from 3-5 business days to 2-3 weeks. The lack of immediate availability suggests Apple is running low on supplies as they prepare for launch of the updated machines.
