• Shazam Update Adds Support for QR Code Reading and Email Integration

On Thursday, the popular Shazam media-tagging service launched an update for its iOS applications, bringing them up to version 8.6.0 in the iOS App Store.

Thursday's update adds the ability to use your camera in order to scan images via QR codes with Shazam. QR Codes may have special offers, additional content, and much more.

When you open the application for the first time after updating, you'll notice a new Camera button at the top left of the application. When you tap on it, you will see the screen above, which tells you how to get started. After allowing the Shazam application to have access to your Camera, you'll be able to use it to start scanning QR codes.

Moreover, you can also use your e-mail address to log into Shazam.com and see all of your recent Shazams from anywhere.

Existing users of Shazam will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Shazam for free from this App Store link or the latest version of Shazam Encore for $6.99 from this App Store link.
