On Tuesday, PayPal might have finally caught up to the year of 2013 with official Touch ID support. You can now update to the latest version of the application (version 5.11.5) to set up and begin using the Touch ID fingerprint scanner to log into your PayPal account on your iPhone.
While Touch ID is a feature that has been heavily requested by PayPal users over and over among all mediums of PayPal mobile application support, so has been support for Apple's retina HD display in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which launched in September 2014, and still is not supported with this update for the PayPal application for iOS. Instead, the application remains blown-up in resolution on Apple's latest iOS devices.
Moreover, the application doesn't support the Apple Watch either. Many payment services have already set up applications on the Apple Watch, while PayPal continues to lag behind with user-demanded features.
Existing users of PayPal will find this update waiting for them under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Those with automatic updates enabled will find the application installed for them automatically. Alternatively, you can also download the latest version of the PayPal for free from this App Store link.
