• Take Your Pick: IBM Offering Workers Choice of PC or Mac

In what comes as another clear indication of the increasingly close relationship shared by Apple and IBM, employees at Big Blue now have a unique option and a personal computing decision to make that was never previously theirs to make.

According to published reports Thursday, IBM is now for the first time in company history offering all employees Macs. Of course, they are free to stick with PCs if they prefer, but Macs are definitely now in the discussion and on the table.

"IBM notes that it currently has around 15,000 Macs deployed through its BYOD program, but plans to deploy around 50,000 Macbooks by the end of the year," 9to5Mac reports, citing an IBM memo noting that IBM is now "the biggest 'Mac shop' around."

As MMi has previously reported in detail, Apple had been working with IBM since their groundbreaking partnership last year to introduce an array of new apps designed to boost efficiency, convenience and solutions across an array of industries.
