• Injuries Reported at Apple's NC Data Center

There's a developing story at this hour out of North Carolina at the site of Apple's sprawling data center.

According to the Charlotte Observer, five individuals were injured at the data center on Monday afternoon in response to what is being described as a chlorine leak at the Apple-owned facility.

What isn't clear at this time is whether or not the five people are Apple employees.

Nonetheless, local reports say emergency responders were notified at around 2:30pm EST about the emergency. Apple has not offered formal comment on the incident and the severity of the reported injuries isn't known at this time.

For Apple, however, this particular data center and its workers are of immense importance to the company.

"Apple will invest $1 billion over a decade for its 183-acre data center," the Observer notes. "The more than 500,000-square-foot facility is one of the world’s largest data centers."
