• Skype iPhone App Gets Update With Web Previews, New Apple Watch Gesture, & More

Skype has released an update for its iPhone application on Tuesday marking version 5.13 of the application as the newest that you can download from the iOS App Store.

The new update brings improvements for both the iPhone application and the Apple Watch application. On the iPhone front, the application has adopted a Web link preview feature that has been available on the desktop client for some time. When you send or receive a link, the application will show a preview of the Web site, including the title of the site and an image from the site, so that you know what you're clicking on and can easily differentiate between legitimate things and spam.

In terms of what's new on the Apple Watch, Skype notes that you can now press and hold on the Apple Watch screen to activate Force Touch while you're looking at your list of conversations. This will allow you to mark all messages as read so you don't have to tap on them all individually to do the same thing.

Apart from these new features, Skype notes that some performance improvements and bug fixes have also been implemented in version 5.13 to enhance the user experience of Skype for iPhone for all users. If you're already a Skype for iPhone user, then the update will be waiting for you under the Updates tab in the App Store application, or you can download the latest version of Skype for free from this App Store link.
