• Rumor: Apple to Hold August iAd Event

From one event to the next. That's what we're hearing today from the Apple rumor mill.

With WWDC 2015 now in the rear view mirror, everyone is wondering when Apple will return to show off what's next. The answer, it seems, may be August. But the occasion won't be for a grand unveiling of the next iPhone or iPad. Instead, it could be all about iAd, Apple's mobile advertising platform.

    Mobile Advertising Watch
published an exclusive report Thursday indicating that Apple is working on a "significant overhaul of iAd as a means to entice more publishers and advertisers to capitalize on the latest resources iAd has to offer."

"And those yet-to-be-announced resources," says report author Greg Madsen, "would be at the heart of Augustís media event."

New ad formats? New monetization opportunities? More attractive ad placements? A big push into native mobile advertising? These are all questions swirling around today's report. But we will likely have to wait until August to get our answers.
