• Angela Ahrendts Present to Help Open New Upper East Side NYC Apple Store

Apple’s new Upper East Side store opened just recently, which used to be a 93-year old bank in the area. The new remodeled bank into Apple Store is located at 940 Madison Avenue on the corner of East 74th Street and Madison Avenue, which is just one block away from Central Park. The company’s SVP of Retail and Online Stores, Angela Ahrendts, was present for the store’s grand opening.

Customers who visit the new store will see that there is a dedicated Beats display wall and a VIP room for Apple Watch Edition try-ons. The Beats headphones are on display with round, wooden heads so that customers can walk by and try them on as well. The VIP room has a large TV display, laptops, couches, and iPhones along the wall.

From the photos taken, the design of this new Apple Store is definitely unique and different from all their other retail locations. Not only does it seem to have a historic feel to it, but the company kept many aspects from the bank’s history as well. There was a ton of controversy when residents in the area found out that the old building would be turned into an electronic store.

The new Madison Ave store will be helping out with all the traffic the 5th Ave. Apple Store location always gets. We recently reported that the flagship store has been relocated to FAO Schwarz temporarily as the company renovates the glass building. Due to the upscale clientele, Apple also brought back personal shopping service at the new store and will be having shorter opening hours for that location.
