• Apple Goes with Postmates for Same-Day Deliveries Over Uber

Uber was reportedly in talks with Apple when it came to providing same-day product deliveries during its push for on-demand transportation. Apple ended up ultimately going with the startup Postmates instead though, leaving Uber hanging in the air.

The project was internally known as UberEverything, with Uber landing six partnership deals after its launch a year ago. Popular online retailer, Gilt, did mention that UberEverything ended up failing to meet their expectations in part because it wasnít able to insure any expensive products. The report from The Wall Street Journal didnít mention why Uberís talks with Apple fell apart but the transportation firm was supposedly in discussions to offer services in more than just one city.

As far as Apple goes, as mentioned before the company ended up choosing the startup, Postmates, to handle same-day delivery services around the US. The $19 option has since showed up in the Apple Store iOS app in May and has expanded the offering to the Online Apple Store. In areas where the delivery option is available, Postmatesí courier services for Apple come at a $2 premium over expedited delivery options with packages usually arriving within four hours of purchase.

Have any of you used same-day delivery services? If so, how was your experience?
