• Apple Slashes Price of Beats PowerBeats2 Headphones by $20

Apple launched some new colors for its Beats PowerBeats2 headphones earlier this week to match the colors of the fluoroelastomer wrist bands that come on the Apple Watch Sport.

On Wednesday, as first noted by 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman Apple appears to have sliced the price of its Beats PowerBeats2 headphone offerings by $20 online. The regular price of $199.95 is now a thing of the past, while the Web site now advertises $179.95 for a pair.

The new price is applied to the new Apple Watch Sport band colored headphones, as well as the regularly-colored ones, both of which are available online. Even the non-wireless versions have seen a price cut from $149.95 to $134.95.

$20 = slash? Maybe if it were now $99 I'd call it slashing. This is more like "reduced the price."

Still way too much money for subpar headphones in my opinion.

If you like bass go for it. If you like clear/balanced sound, look elsewhere.
