• Showtime Launches its Streaming TV Channel on the Apple TV with a 30-Day Free Trial

Those of you who have been cable cutting can now access the premium network Showtime via their Apple TV. Showtime is home to popular TV series such as Homeland and Dexter, and has recently launched on Tuesday with a free 30-day trial period. After the trial ends, Showtime will end up running subscribers $10.99 per month. The new streaming channel will automatically be available to all second- and third-generation Apple TV units.

The streaming-only launch arrives just ahead of the premiere of the third season of “Ray Donovan,” which stars Live Schreiber and Jon Voight – set to air this Sunday at 9:00 PM Eastern. It will be followed by the third season premiere of “Masters of Sex,” starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan at 10:00pm Eastern.

Showtime’s streaming service is set to operate very similarly to that of HBO Now, which debuted exclusive on the Apple TV this past April before it made its way to other platforms as well. That being said, Showtime did end up undercutting HBO Now’s $14.99 per month price tag. Similar to HBO, Showtime is known for its combination of original programming and an extensive movie library.

Will any of you be getting Showtime’s streaming service or are you just going to pass?

His name is Liev not Live. I'm definitely interested in this now that I don't have to have cable to access this. We cut the cord years ago because cable TV is such a massive waste of money for channels and content we will never view. To be able to cherry pick the channels you want is something cable subscribers have wanted for years. Hopefully more channels will do this as well.
