• Third-Party Accessories With Co-designed Apple Packaging Spotted in Stores

We reported a few days ago that Apple would be decreasing the amount of third party accessories being sold in stores with ones they are co-packaging. Now, the company has already begun selling accessories that they co-packaged. According to Macotakara, redesigned Mophie juice packs were seen in a Japanese Apple Store recently. The new packaging matches Apple’s own product packaging with a white background, large images, and minimal text.

With this new store revamp, it gives the company even greater control in what they want to sell. Interestingly enough, many companies have already agreed to go with the revamp and abide by Apple rules. To get the kind of exposure you would from Apple, we guess it is worth it for accessory companies to go along with the change. Companies like Tech21, Incase, Logi, and many others have already decided to partake in the initiative. According to Apple, the redesign will have a ‘premium feel’ to it.

The reason behind this initiative is most likely because Apple wants to have a brand image and unify all products being sold in stores. Those who don’t want to have the company co-package their product boxing will have to sell the products on their own website or another third-party site. If you no longer see your favorite accessory in Apple Stores, we’d recommend looking for it online and use Amazon as a source.
