Rovio appears to have made a significant change to the pricing of various Angry Birds-branded games in the iOS App Store on Wednesday. There are no hints as to why Rovio is pushing this sale, but if you're interested in grabbing many of the games while they're free and/or on sale, this is the time to do so and take advantage of the opportunity.
You can follow the following links to the App Store to download Rovio's hit Angry Birds games:
- Angry Birds Space (normally 99¢, now FREE)
- Angry Birds Space HD (normally $2.99, now FREE)
- Angry Birds Star Wars HD (normally $2.99, now 99¢)
- Angry Birds Seasons HD (normally $2.99, now 99¢)
- Angry Birds HD (normally $2.99, now 99¢)
Particularly of interest in this sale is that many of the HD versions of the games have seen price cuts, while most of the regular iPhone versions of the games remain at their usual prices. This could be a push for Rovio to try and sell more copies of its HD iPad games as the company's revenue continues to plummet. With that being said, it's unknown if this sale is temporary or permanent.
It's likely that Angry Birds Space has gone on sale to celebrate the New Horizons fly-by of Pluto yesterday. Rovio and NASA worked together to create the game, so it would make sense for that to be a driving factor.
