• Yelp for iOS Updated With Today Widget for Notification Center, Easier Searching & More

On Thursday, Yelp released a new update for its iOS application with some new features that users will find helpful for making the application more accessible and finding their way around reviews. Version 9.14.0 is the latest version of the application that is now available from the iOS App Store as of this writing.

The new update brings with it a new Notification Center widget under the Today tab that lets users search for local businesses, whether they're restaurants, coffee & tea locations, bars, or even just hot & new locations that may have just opened or are popular to the community.

Now the widget doesn't work as you might think it does: that is, it can't actually perform searches from the widget itself and it can't actually filter between locations from the widget itself. Instead, tapping on the search bar or tapping on any of the filter shortcuts immediately open the Yelp application as if they were shortcuts.

Other improvements in this update include changes to the way you search in the application to find reviews for the things you love, this way you get more relevant search results to what you're looking for quickly. It's also possible to search for places that can deliver to your house, so you don't even have to leave the couch.

You can download the latest version of Yelp for free from this App Store link, but if you're already a Yelp user, then the update is available for free under the Updates tab in the App Store application.
