• Former Fiat Chrysler Executive Hired by Apple

We previously reported that there were rumors circulating the web claiming that Apple is working on a new project, which is to launch their own automobile sometime in the future. Now, a new report from The Wall Street Journal is saying that the Cupertino-based company has hired Doug Betts, previous Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ global quality control employee. Betts apparently began working at Apple earlier this month and worked at Fiat Chrysler until 2014.

It is not clear what Betts’ role at Apple is yet, as his professional profile on LinkedIn only notes “Operations - Apple Inc.” in San Francisco, California. Betts’ profile also notes that he began working for Apple in July. The WSJ reports that the company hired another top autonomous vehicle researcher from Europe as well, after other news broke claiming Apple CEO Tim Cook had approved the car project last year. Then other previous reports claimed as well that Apple hired CEO of Mercedes-Benz R&D Johann Jungwirth too.

There is a lot of hearsay about this new Apple project, so once we find out more information we will definitely update you guys. However, how likely are you to buy an Apple automobile compared to other vehicles out there that have been around for much longer? What are your thoughts on this project?
