• 2016 Honda Accords to Support Apple CarPlay

Towards the end of last month, we reported that Chevy’s first cars (the 650-HP Corvette Z06) to have Apple’s CarPlay support had already been shipped out to consumers and dealerships. Then a day after, General Motors announced that they would be bringing the new infotainment system and Android Auto to their Buick and GMC vehicles by early next year. Now, Honda has announced that their 2016 Accord would be the first car in their lineup to support not only CarPlay, but Android Auto as well.

According to Re/Code, the 2016 Accord was unveiled at the research center in Mountain View, California. Honda noted that they have plans of expanding CarPlay support across their vehicle lineup throughout 2016. When Apple first announced their infotainment system, Honda was actually one of the first automakers to vouche for them. Even though there aren’t many cars yet that have CarPlay, we’re sure more and more carmakers will be contacting Apple.

Honda’s 2016 Accord EX, EX-L, and Touring models will come standard with Apple CarPlay. The automaker had listed Apple’s infotainment system as a partner since months ago, but never announced its actual plans till now. Are you excited for cars to have CarPlay?
