• Apple Seeds OS X 10.10.5 Beta 2 to Developers for Testing

Thursday evening, Apple seeded the second beta of OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite to developers for testing with the build number 14F19a. The new seed has been offered to developer approximately two weeks following the seed of the original OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite, and has released just a few hours after iOS 8.4.1 beta 2 this afternoon.

Like iOS 8.4.1, OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite is likely to contain bug fixes, stability improvements, and security enhancements to make the operating system more stable and reliable. Since it's just a X.X.1 release, it likely won't have anything big contained within.

Developers running the current beta can open the Mac App Store and check the Updates tab to find this updated seed waiting to be installed. Installation will require a restart of the machine, so it's a good idea to save work before proceeding to prevent data loss.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan is also in beta as of this point and will be released to the public this Fall. Developers can prepare their applications for El Capitan compatibility, or install OS X 10.10.5 to help Apple with reporting bugs.
