The life of Steve Jobs has been successfully depicted in writing, in film, and soon, through music in a Steve Jobs-based opera.
Yes, opera.
The L.A. Times confirmed on Wednesday that Jobs will be the subject of an opera in 2017. That much was announced today by the Santa Fe Opera, which is behind the forthcoming presentation titled "The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs."
Composer Mason Bates and librettist Mark Campbell will bring the Santa Fe Opera commissioned production to life. The opera itself will, like the films and documentaries made about the tech visionary, will revolve around both the personal and professional legacies left by Jobs.
The company said "The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs" will receive its first workshop in San Francisco in September in collaboration with Cal Performances at UC Berkeley, and with additional support from San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
