• Apple's Latest Ad Highlights the iPhone's Picture and Video Capturing Capabilities

Apple recently released a new 30-second spot that touts the iPhone’s easy-to-use picture taking capabilities, adding to the Cupertino California company’s “If it’s not an iPhone” ad campaign. The ad, which is titled “Photos & Video,” points out that the iPhone has enabled millions of users to take high-quality photos and videos with almost no effort. The narrator starts off by stating the following:

Everyday, millions of amazing photos and videos are shot with iPhone. That's because the iPhone makes it easy for everyone to shoot amazing photos and video.
The ad is shot in Apple’s signature poppy style but with a larger focus on beautiful imagery that was captured by the iPhone. One thing to note is that throughout the commercial, only one app is used, which is Apple’s Camera app. The rest of the time is used to highlight full screen photos and stunning videos with the spot wrapping up with its “if it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone” tagline.

For those of you who didn’t know, Apple’s latest iPhone ad campaign started just last month with two short spots that focused on the hardware behind the device and the customer satisfaction the device has brought to users. This campaign brings a new direction for iPhone commercials by directing straight facts and features at viewers instead of offering vague references and instead of being story-driven.

That was pretty weak, particularly the end whereby Apple is now distinguishing the iPhone by virtue of it not being other phones. Seems more of a Samsung approach...
