• Tesla Engineer Comes to Apple

It's easy to see how this is going to add more fuel to the rumor fire surrounding Apple's purported interest in developing it's own line of automobiles.

Reuters is reporting that Apple has hired a senior engineer from Tesla Motors in what can only be seen as further indication of the iDevice maker's interest in producing an electric car -- something that industry analysts and watchers have mixed feelings about.

"A LinkedIn profile for Jamie Carlson shows that he has left Tesla and moved to Apple," Reuters notes. "At least six others with experience developing self-driving technology and systems have joined Apple, according to their LinkedIn profiles."

All told, that's a lot of automotive talent for Apple, which doesn't produce enough high-end vehicle-centric services to likely warrant hiring such industry heavyweights.

For now, neither Apple or the hired executives in question will comment on the matter.
