• Apple Commences Sales of Third-Party Apple Watch Accessories in Retail Stores

Since the launch of the Apple Watch, all accessories in Apple Stores pertaining to the wearable device have been Apple-branded. The Apple Watch itself has also been native to Apple Retail Stores until recently, when Best Buy was given the green flag to carry them as an Authorized Reseller.

As spotted first by MacRumors on Wednesday, Apple has finally started allowing third-party Apple Watch accessories in its retail stores, and as you might expect, they're closed up in Apple-esque packaging, just like other third-party accessories for iPhones and other Apple devices.

The first third-party accessory for the Apple Watch to make it into Apple Retail Stores is the NightStand for the Apple Watch, which is a nice docking solution for when you want to put your Apple Watch somewhere while you sleep.

Notably, the NightStand holds the Apple Watch sideways, and we know that watch OS 2 will be giving the Apple Watch a 'nightstand mode' that works in landscape orientation, which might be one of the reasons Apple is favoring the NightStand over others. Moreover, the company appears to be working with Apple to produce colors that match the Sport bands available for the Apple Watch.

The NightStand is priced at $29.95 in Apple Retail Stores and is designed to work with the original Apple USB inductive charging surface.
