On Friday, BlackBerry reminded the world that it's still a force to be reckoned with in mobile. That much is clear from today's announcement.
BlackBerry has just confirmed its acquisition of Good Technology -- a provider of secure mobility solutions -- for $425 million in cash.
"The acquisition of Good is aligned with BlackBerry’s strategy to offer customers the most complete, end-to-end solution that secures the entire mobile enterprise, across all platforms," BlackBerry said in this morning's media announcement.
In layman's terms, the deal could make BlackBerry more attractive to those struggling with the demands of juggling numerous devices and platforms while remaining confident in the general security of their mobility activities.
Good Technology, we're told, will bring "complementary capabilities and technologies" to BlackBerry. This will reportedly include secure applications and containerization that protects end user privacy.
