• Apple Completes 2 Buildings in Texas Campus and Has 3 More Under Construction

Apple’s new Austin, Texas campus is really coming along as photos of the progress were posted recently. The reported completion date for the campus is sometime next year in 2016. It has been noted that the Texas campus will be Apple’s second largest office complex, coming in at 1.1 million square feet and 38 acres. According to Austin American-Statesman, buildings 3 and 4 were completed just recently and three more are still being worked on.

From the sounds of it, the Austin, Texas campus will almost act like a college campus where a variety of amenities will be offered so that people will stay on campus. There will reportedly be smoothie and coffee bars, a full gym with weightlifting equipment, two saunas, and restaurants. Other services including dental, eye, medical, acupuncture, and massage will be offered as well, just like the company’s current “Wellness Center’ in Cupertino, California.

Back in 2012, Apple announced they would spend approximately $304 million on expanding operations in Austin, even though they already had a presence in Texas for years. It was even rumored that Apple would be hiring an additional 3635 employees for their Texas campus. The company’s offices in Texas are located in northwest Austin off West Parmer Lane. Other big tech companies like Dell, Google, and Qualcomm are also in the vicinity, so there’s tons of competition going on within the area.
