Apple’s iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were unveiled just recently but pricing for the two devices have already been updated to be more expensive in Australia, Canada, and other countries. Apparently this is the case due to the strengthening dollar and currency exchange rate fluctuations. For example in Canada, the larger iPhone 6s Plus off contract will be 1029 CAD, 1159 CAD, and 1289 CAD for the 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, respectively.
However, the iPhone 6 Plus was priced at 969 CAD, 1099 CAD, and 1229 CAD for the 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, respectively before the new device was unveiled. In Australia, the iPhone 6s Plus is priced at AU$1229, AU$1379, and AU$1529. But the original 6 Plus was priced at AU$1149, AU$1299, and AU$1449 for the same storage sizes. Other countries that will experience a higher priced iPhone 6s and 6s Plus at launch will be Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, and France.
The fluctuating exchange rate does not affect all countries, for example, the U.K. Apple’s iPhone 6s/6s Plus will be priced at exactly the same as the previous iPhones. And obviously for U.S. customers, pricing will be exactly the same as well. Will you be getting the new iPhone? Share with us in the section below.
