• Apple Pay Begins Rolling Out in Certain Best Buy Stores

A new YouTube video was recently posted on a Reddit thread showing Best Buy stores beginning to accept Apple’s mobile payment service, Apple Pay. The popular electronics store had started accepting in-app purchases via Apple Pay since April of this year. Now, the service is rolling out in its brick-and-mortar stores. However, the company has yet to officially announce the acceptance.

According to the YouTube video, users were able to do credit and debit card purchases using not only Apple Pay, but Google’s Android Pay as well in select California Best Buy stores. Best Buy’s exclusive deal with Merchant Customer Exchange (MCX) expired last month, hence why the company is able to take Apple Pay and Android Pay and roll out the feature today.

Best Buy is no longer exclusive to just MCX who developed their own mobile payment service CurrentC, so they are accepting Apple Pay and Android Pay no w and will take CurrentC when it launches most likely next year. We don’t think all Best Buy stores are set up to accept Apple Pay yet, which is most likely why they have yet to make a formal announcement.
