• iMovie for iOS Updated with 4K Video Support for the iPad Air 2 and Several Bug Fixes

Apple this past week released an update to its iMovie video editing app for iOS where the company brought 4K support to the iPad Air 2 hardware running on iOS 9.1 while addressing a number of bugs including an import issue that was being experienced by users on iCloud Drive. With the latest iteration of iMovie, iPad Air 2 owners can view and cut 4K video all while on the go. This includes clips that are captured on the iPhone 6s as well. The iMovie app gained 4K editing support for the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and the upcoming iPad Pro previously in September.

Alongside the ultra-high-resolution processing, Apple seems to have fixed several problems that it encountered with importing and removing iMovie projects from iCloud Drive. The company also addressed text encoding issues that prevented users from creating new trailers and caused interface issues in certain right-to-left languages. Other bug fixes include an interface problem that cropped up in the iMovie extension for iPhoto and just general performance and stability improvements.

Those of you interested in downloading iMovie version 2.2.1 can do so for free as long as you are an existing user. New customers will have to fork over $4.99 for the app.
