• TAG Heuer Unveils 'TAG Heuer Connected' Watch

On Monday, Apple learned that its market leading smartwatch is getting some serious competition. And Apple has TAG Heuer to thank for it.

The TAG team, along with Intel Corporation and Google, just unveiled a connected watch (designed, naturally, by hthe Luxury Swiss watchmaker). The device, however, is being engineered with Intel technology and will serve up all that the Android Wear universe delivers.

The "TAG Heuer Connected Watch with Intel Inside" was revealed at a press conference today led by Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer.

"We are incredibly proud to be unveiling the first connected watch, which brings more than 150 years of history firmly into the future," Biver said this morning. "The TAG Heuer Connected watch gives you the means not only to connect to the future, but also to connect to eternity."

So what can you get for the $1,500 price of the connected watch? A beautiful display, a smattering of health sensors/features, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of flash storage, mic, gyroscope, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11 b/g/n/ WiFi, with a 1.6-gigahertz dual-core unit.

Want one? If so, TAG Heuer Connected is available now in the U.S. and Canada with global markets expected to get the device soon.

10 times the price and 1/10th the features of the Urbane 2. Still, it has that all-imporant luxury price :-)
