Although Apple Watch and HealthKit have already played highly influential roles within the healthcare space, Apple may not have finished playing its hand in the world of digital medicine and virtual healthcare.
In a new interview with the U.K. Telegraph, CEO Tim Cook suggests in no uncertain terms that Apple may already be tinkering with a forthcoming health-centric product that is distinct from Apple Watch.
So what kind of device might Apple be working on, you ask? Cook, of course, didn't dish any tell-all details. But he did provide a few enticing clues.
"We don't want to put the watch through the Food and Drug Administration process. I wouldn't mind putting something adjacent to the watch through it, but not the watch, because it would hold us back from innovating too much, the cycles are too long," Cook is quoted by the publication. "But you can begin to envision other things that might be adjacent to it — maybe an app, maybe something else."
